POSITION
CONCEPT
The
Energy Management (EM) Analyst team supports all of Client's mandated Conservation programs and communicates the safe and efficient use of
energy to our Customers. The EMS Analyst team supports marketing and sales of
Residential and Commercial Zap Cap and Renewable Energy Programs. Responsible
to ensure the programs are delivered in accordance with the Florida
Administrative Code an in a fashion, that meets Customer and Company
expectations.

PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
Required: Physical ability to safely carry
and maneuver a thirty-five (35) pound ladder, climb throughout attics to
perform audits and inspections in adverse conditions such as superheated attics
and outdoors in the sun and rain.
Must
pass a level 2 physical and wear personal protective equipment.
LICENSES
Required: Must have a valid Florida Driver's
license with a clean driving record; driving record will be validated through
an initial driver's license check and may be validated annually.
TEMPORARY ENERGY MANAGEMENT ANALYST ASSOCIATE
This
position performs under direct to moderate supervision. In order to develop
competence, they will receive training and mentoring from the Supervisor,
Energy Analyst team members, Program Coordinators, outside educators,
administrative staff and other Company team members.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Successfully
completes in-house conservation training necessary to administer the
residential conservation programs within two (2) months of start date.
§ Training
includes classroom study and field application of energy analysis, residential
building structure, HVAC system, insulation and duct materials and installation
techniques, renewable energy, all conservation practices and measures
referenced in the Florida Administrative
Code and the residential audit, energy conservation and energy alternatives,
acquired knowledge of tariff agreements, regulatory requirements, basic
electricity and metering, EECP, SAP, CRM and all Customer Service programs.
2. Conducts
Free Energy Audit (walk-through) for Residential Customers.
§ Audits
include: analysis of current energy usage patterns and habits, educate
customers on rates and metering, evaluation of home structure and relative
condition of major appliances, entering attics to inspect and qualify HVAC
systems, ductwork, and attic insulation. Completes calculations to determine
energy costs, educates and recommends conservation programs and practices to
customers. Delivers audits in an
understandable manner to motivate customers' participation in conservation
programs and implement changes in their energy use habits.
3.
Conducts attic inspections to qualify customer homes for the
Insulation Incentive and DuctWorks Programs.
Evaluates existing attic insulation, visual examinations of duct system
to identify problem areas and insulation type(s), duct types, and calculates
square footage of house and accessible attic.
Explains requirements, benefits, and limitations for both the Insulation
Incentive program, and DuctWork program to customers.
4.
Analyst will administer TEC's neighborhood low-income
weatherization program, as needed. This
responsibility includes educating customers about the energy efficiency
expectations of the measures and installing the applicable energy efficiency
measures in the weatherization kit. The
analyst will pre-verify the residence for measures that will be delivered by
approved TEC contractors such as duct seal and insulation.
5.
Inspects post-install Insulation upgrades, post-ductwork repairs,
and other TEC verifications as necessary.
Verifies work performed is in accordance with programs standards,
notifying customers and/or contractors of any remaining deficiencies and
corrective measures necessary, and initiating applicable customer/contractor
rebates and/or incentives payments once programs standards are met.
6.
Resolves Residential High Bill inquiries via phone and field
visit, using audit techniques and appliance load calculations to troubleshoot
potential malfunctions. Educates customers on meter integrity, operation and
reading of electric meters, determines and initiates follow-up service needs,
alternative services, and completes resolution of customers' concerns.
7.
Markets Residential Energy Planner, Prime Time Plus, Zap Cap and
Renewable Energy programs and other Company initiatives (ex. eBill, Power
Updates) to achieve Department goals.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Interfaces with varying levels of
management, Meter Dept, and Customer Services.
External: Interfaces directly with
Customers, Contractors, Civic Associations, Educational Institutions, and
Vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Valid High School Diploma or Valid GED
Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree from
an regionally accredited college/university.
Licenses/Certifications/Training
Preferred: Any Association of Energy Engineers certification, such as
REA, CEA, CEM or BEP
Experience
Required: Minimum 2 years related experience in energy management or electric
utility industry.
College
Degree may be considered in lieu of equivalent experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required: Experience in electric high bill resolution and meter
operation. Above average mathematical and analytical skills to perform
calculations necessary to administer conservation programs. Above average oral
and written communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills to
effectively deliver audit findings and rebate program qualifications to
Customers. Proficient planning and organizational skills to coordinate
personal, autonomous work schedule to maximize time available for field
activities and meet Customer requests in a timely manner and within
requirements of the Florida Public Service Commission. Ability to work
independently, as well as in a self-directed team. Knowledge of and ability to
interpret Customer account data. Basic
competency in creating and updating documents and spreadsheets using Microsoft
Word and Excel.
Preferred: Knowledge of Client's Customer Service
programs, Zap Cap Program and energy conservation techniques. Knowledge and ability to use laptops, tablets
and wireless technologies. Effectiveness in conducting presentations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required: Driving
25% of the day; 75% spent in a combination of working with Customers in their
homes, working outdoors and in attics, walking, bending, and climbing. Ability
to safely lift, carry, and maneuver a 35 lb. ladder.
