About Vala's

Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala's is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala's property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Our mission at Vala's is to bring happiness to the world by creating a place where magical memories are shared between families and friends- one person, one pumpkin, one experience at a time.

Requirements

Responsibilities & Requirements:

As a part of the rides and attractions team, this position is responsible for safely operating rides on the farm. This includes a variety of amusement rides such as Jan's Carousel, Cousin' Lauren's Racin' Pigs and Stefan's Country drive and others. Guest interaction is required. This position reports to the location Team Leader and/or Supervisor. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. 

  • Perform all safety checks prior to ride operation
  • Monitor guests and provide instructions during loading and unloading of rides
  • Monitor the moving ride, following all safety and operational procedures 
  • Interacts with guests in a friendly manner at all times
  • Works well in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions in high pressure situations
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, twist, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to move 25 lbs frequently, 25-50 lbs occasionally
  • Interest in amusement rides and guest service- no experience required
