JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Temporary Facilities Laborer is assigned responsibility for the commercial building site in regards to cleaning, maintenance, and process support, to ensure the surrounding environment is in a suitable, clean condition to work.
This is an on-site role located in Caro, MI. Responsibilities include:
  • General landscaping and lawn care: watering, mowing and weed maintenance, trimming and replacing shrubs, applying lawn fertilizers, etc.
  • Internal and external building cleaning and maintenance; glass window cleaning, painting of hand rails, equipment or guards, light bulb replacement, general area clean up, etc.
  • Access to and usage of facilities equipment to complete work throughout this campus.
  • Support of general facility projects and repairs; picking up parts, assisting with equipment repair, cleaning equipment components, shadow various technician roles
  • Operating POET fleet vehicles for maintenance service and cleanup
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
  • Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community
  • Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET's products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Pursuing or completion of a high school diploma or equivalent education
  • General safety awareness and willingness to take direction on task completion
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently on various projects
  • Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, self-contained breathing system, hazardous material suit, and hearing protection.
  • Working at extreme heights (approximately 150 ft), in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees Fahrenheit, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Be able to use the following equipment/tools, with training provided (not all encompassing): cleaning cart and supplies, forklift, riding and push lawn mower, bobcat sweeper, vacuum, snow blower, shovel, broom, mop, and ladder
  • Frequently:
    • Walk on slippery surfaces
    • Grip with a force of up to 20lbs
    • Push and pull with a force of up to 30lbs
    • Bend forward while standing
    • Use repetitive arm motions to wipe down and maintain work area
  • Occasionally:
    • Lift up to 50lbs, with or without assistance
    • Carry up to 50lb, with or without assistance
    • Be in awkward back, shoulder, wrists, and hand positions
  • Since we are all about team work, you may be asked to help other roles that have their own unique set of physical requirements.
  • Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you'll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
