Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for assisting all maintenance team members as required to maintain production with minimal downtime. Position is for Shift D- Graveyard
Job Description
  • Oversee and assure accurate equipment information is maintained on assigned shifts work orders as well as creating and closing same while working directly with shift's maintenance assistant supervisor.
  • Gather data on plant equipment as required.
  • Assist maintenance as instructed by supervisor(s) when not performing planners duties.
  • Meet required data entry capabilities which include but are not limited to: typing (minimum 40 words per minute with accuracy), broad vocabulary, maintaining files, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work and communicate well with supervisors, subordinates, and other planners.
  • Able to work in an office type environment as well as hand in hand throughout plant operations, while maintaining a work safe attitude and following plant policies

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Firewatch, Confined Space and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.

  • Applicability of required certification and licensing by level is determined by state regulations.
  • Possess working knowledge of processing or related type operations, equipment, and terminology thereof.
  • Possess the ability to operate mainframe and/or PC type computers and programs (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing).
  • Typing a minimum of 40 words per minute with accuracy.

Skills and Experience:
  • Lock-out/Tag-out and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.

  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.

  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location).

  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.

  • Ability to perform basic math functions, required.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Previous maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Environment/Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.

  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies

  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.

  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.

  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation

  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
