Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician in Tulsa, OK. The Level 3 Data Center Technician will support a large-scale fiber project, focusing on the high-volume installation and patching of bundled fiber systems. The ideal candidate possesses advanced fiber expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the technical proficiency required for complex device-to-device and patch panel connectivity.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30 to $32 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fiber patching operations from patch panel to patch panel.
  • Execute patching from patch panels to specific hardware devices.
  • Manage device-to-device fiber connectivity for high-density environments.
  • Install and route bundled fiber cables according to project design standards.
  • Maintain high organizational standards for cable management and infrastructure cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the installation team to ensure project timelines are met during assigned shifts.
  • Verify all fiber connections are properly seated and routed to prevent signal loss.
  • Utilize ladders to access overhead cable trays and patching infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 experience in a data center or mission-critical infrastructure environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with fiber optic cabling, including patching and bundled fiber management.
  • Availability to work designated shifts: 3pm - 11pm or 11pm - 7am.
  • Proven track record of high productivity and attention to detail in large-scale deployments.
  • Must own and provide over-the-ankle, ESD-rated composite toe safety boots.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow complex installation diagrams and patching schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders to reach overhead infrastructure.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling delicate fiber optic connectors and cables.
  • Ability to work in a data center environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Must be able to reach, lift, and maneuver materials as required for installation.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $30 to $32 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
