Job Description
We are looking for an experienced network engineer to focus on our corporate end-user networks and end-user experience. You will be the driving force behind our office LAN and wireless infrastructure, ensuring that from the moment an employee opens their laptop, their connection is fast, secure, and rock-solid.
In this role you will work with end users, NOC and network engineering, and the End User Experience Team including local IT, to proactively monitor end-user network experience, supporting local and remote user issues, and advocate for end-user needs. Upcoming project work includes assisting with the migration to new VPN models and solutions, so familiarity with next generation firewalls and access models is a big plus.
This position will be hybrid, with the expectation you will typically work three days a week in our flagship Manhattan office, and act as a liaison for senior management who work there.
Critical skills include:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. You will bridge the gap between end users and core network engineering, act as an escalation point for NOC and helpdesk issues, and communicate network maintenance and changes
  • Managing our corporate Wi-Fi networks. Take ownership of the wireless experience, so vital skills include tuning access points, addressing RF issues, and monitoring capacity
  • Mid-to-senior level network administration experience, including core networking, routing protocols, DNS/DHCP
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with authentication protocols: 802.1x, NAC, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, etc. and an understanding of considerations for their use
  • Helping with company-wide firewall refresh project, including migrating end user VPN solutions and strategy. Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA is a big plus.
  • Vendors: Familiarity with Cisco, Meraki and Palo Alto or Fortinet.

Qualifications
• Works proactively, communicates with internal customers and peers, reports problems and suggests improvements.
• Advocates across infrastructure teams, moderately-sized projects inside the team.
• Communicates complex concepts; anticipates potential objections and influences others to adopt a different point of view
• Requires depth and/or breadth of expertise in network engineering, experience working with leadership, and general knowledge of related areas
• 10-15 years, recognized expertise in a specific area.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; specialized certification is a plus.
