Job description

Content Creator (Contractor)

WHO WE ARE
Glossier is a people-powered ecosystem, brought to life by engaging online and offline experiences. In 11 years, we have built an iconic brand that goes far beyond beauty. Our brand is built on trusted emotional connection, empathy, and consistency in how we show up for people every day. We are woven into everyday moments of people's lives, becoming part of their routines, their self-expression, and their confidence. We are defined not just by what we make, but by how we make people feel and the relationships we build over time. Our north-star values are to be Human, Curious, Playful, and Helpful. We are driven by a shared mission to become the Most Loved Lifestyle Brand in the World.

Responsibilities and Scope:

  • Create always-on social content for TikTok, Instagram, Reels, Stories, and emerging platforms
  • Concept and execute reactive, trend-driven, and culturally relevant content in real time
  • Capture photo and video content on iPhone and lightweight creator setups
  • Edit short-form videos with strong pacing, storytelling, and platform fluency
  • Attend events, shoots, PR moments, and community activations to capture live social content
  • Work closely with the Social team to support content calendars, launches, campaigns, and brand moments
  • Help identify emerging creators, trends, formats, sounds, memes, and internet behaviors
  • Source and participate in UGC-style and creator-led content
  • Bring fresh ideas for how Glossier can continue to evolve its social presence and storytelling
  • Partner cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Creative, PR, Influencer, Retail, and Product Marketing teams
  • Create content that feels human, emotionally resonant, playful, and culturally connected - while remaining unmistakably Glossier

Candidate Qualities:

  • Deeply immersed in internet culture, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle trends
  • Someone with exceptional taste and a strong creative eye
  • Comfortable being both behind and occasionally in front of the camera
  • Fast-moving, resourceful, collaborative, and low-ego
  • Excited by experimentation and iteration
  • Able to balance elevated brand storytelling with native social behavior
  • Obsessed with social-first storytelling and understand what makes content feel authentic vs. overly produced
  • Energized by capturing moments as they happen

Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years creating social-first content for a brand, agency, publication, or personal platform
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and creator/influencer ecosystems
  • Experience shooting and editing short-form content independently
  • Proficiency in mobile editing platforms (CapCut, InShot, TikTok editing tools, Adobe Premiere, etc.)
  • Strong visual storytelling instincts across beauty, lifestyle, and culture
  • Ability to work flexible hours around events, shoots, launches, and cultural moments when needed
  • Portfolio required (TikTok, Instagram, personal content channels, or examples of brand work)
  • 3 - month contract term to start
  • 30-40 hours per week
  • Hybrid in-office work schedule: 2-3 days per week at headquarters in Soho, New York City.
