Title: Instructor, Computer Information Technology – 9/10 Month (Term)

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in computer information technology, including a variety of computer programming languages.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach computer science courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid, virtual or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend.

Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science or closely related field

Experience with at least two of the following software languages: C#, C++, HTML5/CSS, Java, JavaScript, ASP.Net, SQL, or Python

Experience with at least one of the following software programs: Access, Oracle, Power BI, Visual Studio, or SQL Server.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
College level teaching experience

Experience with three or more of the following software languages: C#, C++, HTML5/CSS, Java, JavaScript, ASP.Net, SQL or Python

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of the student population.
