The Key Wealth Management Investment Research & Analysis Internship is a 10.5-week, markets- and portfolio-focused experience that partners the intern with the Key Wealth Research teams responsible for asset-allocation views, manager due diligence, and security-level research that powers portfolios across key verticals in the Wealth Continuum: Key Private Bank, Family Wealth, and Institutional Advisors.

  • Contribute to research deliverables such as manager due-diligence write-ups, sector or thematic notes, capital markets commentary, and performance/attribution reviews.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive team experience by engaging actively with Research analysts, portfolio strategists, and data teammates. Other duties and projects assigned Engage in Key Corp Enterprise learning labs and networking events.
  • Collaborate on a Capstone Group Project - for example, an investment thesis or manager recommendation - presented to senior Investment leadership. Other duties and projects assigned Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education

  • Pursuing a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2029 with focused coursework in wealth management, finance, accounting, business, and/or economics (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through past work experience and/or extracurricular activities. Outstanding academic achievement with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Skills

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data to support the Research and Data Analysis team.
  • Problem Solving: Capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions in a financial services context.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver presentations using tools like PowerPoint.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.

Physical Demands

  • General Office: Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in-person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

Driving/Travel

  • Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
