Summary:
Ensures maximum cost effectiveness and the reliability of manufacturingprocesses and workflow. Determines the methods and sequence ofmanufacturing operations for intricate and/or complex products and machineparts and assemblies; ensures products
and processes meet customer quality requirements. Provides product abilityinput and manufacturing plans for product design or modification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis,applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, andmaterials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations fromoperators/production technicians.
2. Develops complex manufacturing processes by studying product requirements,researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods andequipment; and conferring with equipment suppliers. Prepares written andgraphical work
instructions to communicate manufacturing requirements to production personnel.
3. Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuousimprovement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques tocritical or high impact areas of production. May lead special projects for avariety of products and processes.
4. Frequent formal and informal customer interface to present program status,including analysis of product failure, probable cause, and corrective plan.
5. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, spacerequirements, equipment layout and establishing and implementing "designfor manufacture and assembly" plans. Assures process control andreliability for broad areas of manufacturing that may include supplier base asappropriate.
6. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testingfinished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards toconfirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Determines root causeof failures using statistical methods (e.g. design of experiment, statisticalprocess control) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, orprocessing methods. 
7. Recommends and implements changes to manufacturing processes by analyzingproduction, labor standards, and material costs, reviewing productionschedules, and estimating future requirements. Performs program reviews oftechnical issues at supplier base or assist suppliers to initiate continuousimprovement processes.
8. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educationalworkshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarkingstate-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional associations.
9. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements (e.g.environmental, building code, safety, etc.) by studying existing and newlegislation, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management onneeded actions.
10. Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and makingcomparative analyses. Analyzes, substantiates, and proposes changes in methodsand materials with cost and quality impact.
11. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Contributes to team effort byaccomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may includecross-functional (e.g. quality, design, or test engineering) or project teamresponsibilities.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at theTolleson, AZ location.
