As a Straight Truck Driver (Class B) based in Des Moines, IA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and safe local freight deliveries. JOB DETAILS - FULL TIME, MON - FRI, 7AM START TIME, $25-$26 depending on HazMat status, PAID WEEKLY. MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION/LIFE/401K AFTER 90 DAYS. PTO AVAILABLE

Responsibilities
  • Operate straight trucks safely and efficiently to transport freight between designated local locations.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards.
  • Handle local pickup and delivery (PUD) assignments; assistance from a lumper is provided when necessary.
  • Utilize provided equipment such as pallet jacks and dollies for loading and unloading cargo.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
  • Follow all traffic laws and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor on the road.
Qualifications
  • Valid commercial driver's license, CDL required
  • Experience operating straight trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical ability to load and unload cargo as required.
