Job description

Summary
The Indiana Dinosaur Museum is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Museum Staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with the public, educate visitors about prehistoric life, and contribute to the preservation and presentation of our extensive dinosaur exhibits. Ideal candidates are passionate about paleontology, education, and providing memorable experiences for visitors of all ages. All positions are paid, including internships, and are designed to foster a dynamic and educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, providing excellent customer service and information about exhibits
  • Lead guided tours and educational programs for school groups, families, and tourists
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exhibit areas and public spaces
  • Support the setup and takedown of special events or temporary exhibits
  • Answer visitor questions accurately or direct them to appropriate staff members
  • Assist with museum operations, including ticketing, gift shop sales, and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Outgoing personality is a MUST!
  • Passion for paleontology, natural history, or education is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Previous experience in customer service or educational roles is a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or setting up exhibits
  • A background in science or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific duties
