Description
The Staff Management | SMX team in Pittsburgh, PA, is currently seeking Sanitation Associate candidates to join our team at Tandem Foods. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with associates eligible for conversion after completing 520 hours of work. In this food manufacturing role, you will clean equipment used to produce chocolate, protein bars, and granola bars. Pay starts at $19.35 per hour, with weekly pay, health benefits, and additional incentives. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights, with chemicals, and with high-pressure hoses, and should have at least 1 year of experience cleaning large industrial facilities.
This is a full-time position available for the following shift(s):
  • A 1st Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm ($19.35/hour),
  • A 1st Shift is Monday through Sunday, with two rotating days off each week

Job Responsibilities
As a Sanitation Associate, you are responsible for performing industrial sanitation on machinery, equipment, and floors during active production shifts.
This role includes moving product to access work areas and using high-pressure water hoses and squeegees to clean floors and production lines, ensuring all cleaning tasks meet food safety, sanitation, and GMP standards. Other responsibilities are the breakdown of equipment, cleaning and sanitation of kitchens, production, all surfaces, and packaging equipment. General cleaning and housekeeping of the production areas; detailed cleaning of idle equipment; exterior cleaning of the building; clearing equipment parts, ceilings, walls, etc. Gathers trash from several sites and deposits it in appropriate receptacles.
  • Experience using high-pressure washers and squeegees to clean food production machinery
  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
  • Ability to communicate and read labels in English (Bilingualism a plus)
  • 1 year of cleaning experience required
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to stand for the shift duration
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
