Job description
A strong managerial, administrative, and technical staff supports this instructional mission. Duties of these employees range from budget planning and management for the numerous research grants held by faculty in the department to maintaining course and student records. These activities are usually accomplished in a standard 40- hour week schedule.
This position offers exciting opportunities to collaborate with both internal and external research groups, leveraging the vigorous material science cohort in the North Carolina RTP area. Candidates should be able to work both independently and collaboratively and contribute to the positive research group environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the research of optoelectronic, electronic, or photonic devices and systems.
The position is immediate but a practical startdate can be negotiated. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years based on performance.
