5 years of hands-on experience configuring, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN/WLAN architectures in an enterprise or K-12 environment (preferred).
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Identity Management & Account Provisioning
  1. User Lifecycle Management: Manage and automate the provisioning, modification, and de-provisioning of staff and student accounts across the district's network, email platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365), and active directory environments (AD / Azure AD).
  2. Automated Data Rostering: Oversee and troubleshoot automated account provisioning utilities and rostering tools (e.g., Clever, ClassLink, OneRoster) synced with the Student Information System to ensure student digital access is available on day one.
  3. Identity & Access Control: Maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) protocols, and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) to enforce the principle of least privilege across all district platforms.

Network Infrastructure & Hardware Architecture
  1. Core Routing & Switching: Install, configure, and maintain enterprise Cisco routers, core switches, and edge infrastructure. Manage Layer 2/Layer 3 configurations with an emphasis on dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, 802.1q trunking, RSTP, and BPDU guard.
  2. Fabric & Edge Networking: Deploy and manage Extreme Networks switching environments and automated campus fabric technologies to ensure high availability and simplified network segmentation.
  3. Enterprise Wireless (WLAN): Manage district-wide wireless networks (Cisco Catalyst or ExtremeCloud IQ), including wireless LAN controllers, access points, RF channel planning, and secure 802.1X authentication for student and staff devices.

IP Phone Systems & Unified Communications (VoIP)
  1. Telephony Infrastructure: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot the district's enterprise VoIP phone system (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Mitel, or cloud-hosted platforms).
  2. Emergency Systems Integration: Ensure seamless integration of the phone system with school intercoms, public address (PA) systems, and E911 emergency location broadcasting utilities to maintain campus safety compliance.

Student Data Management & Network Security
  1. SIS Integration & Access: Optimize network pathways, database connectivity, and load balancing for the district's Student Information System (SIS) (e.g., Skyward, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus) to ensure fast, reliable access for teachers, registrars, and parents.
  2. Data Privacy & Compliance: Implement strict Access Control Lists (ACLs), firewalls, and network segmentation to protect sensitive student data, state testing platforms, and grading databases in compliance with CIPA and FERPA.

IP Camera Systems & Physical Security Integration
  1. Surveillance Infrastructure: Oversee the network architecture supporting the district's IP camera systems, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), and Video Management Software (VMS).
  2. Optimization: Configure dedicated VLANs, Quality of Service (QoS) metrics, and multicast routing to ensure high-definition video feeds stream seamlessly without impacting classroom instructional bandwidth.

Diagnostics, Projects & ITIL Operations
  1. Perform advanced diagnostics and provide tier-3 troubleshooting support for all components using tools like Fluke meters, packet analyzers, and syslog servers.
  2. Develop project plans, perform walkthroughs, markup floor plans, and design rack layouts for MDF/IDF closets ahead of campus upgrades or structured cabling projects (CAT6/6A, fiber optics).
