Job description

SUMMARY:

Performs one or more packaging functions such as hand packing, material handling, maintaining of equipment and glue hoppers, palletizing and stretch wrapping container, entering of raw and finished products into the inventory control system, and operation of x-ray machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Unload finished product.
  2. Tag all finish product with the appropriate label lot number
  3. Fill out paperwork accurately and keep it current through work shift
  4. Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as equipment changes, material changes, rework or clearing away damaged product containers.
  5. Inspect pouches, carton and filled container to ensure that product is packed, coded, weighed and cooled according to specifications.
  6. Replenish packaging supplies such as wraps, inserts, slip sheets, stretch wraps, pallets, boxes, glue, ink and or labels.
  7. Keep pallets and slip sheets in palletizer.
  8. Control inventory of corrugate in the inventory control system and control any rework materials that need to be repacked or returned to the filling area.
  9. Performs sanitation and preventative maintenance of the area.
  10. Understands and uses current Good Manufacturing Practices to perform work.
  11. Understand Critical Control Points of the area and is responsible for the routine checks and documentation of those checks.
  12. Understands and uses the Standard Operating Procedures for the area.
  13. Assist with maintaining proper sanitation and cleanliness on the designated production line in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. High School Diploma/GED and/or two 2 years related experience.
  2. Knowledge of raw materials, production process
  3. Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.
  4. Knowledge of computers and electronics
  5. Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule/specification
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or in writing.
  7. Attention to Detail
  8. Ability to read and understand information
  9. Ability to listen and understand information
  10. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  11. Ability to organize and direct oneself and others
  12. Basic mechanical skills with trouble shooting abilities.
  13. Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification.
