Job description

Senior Test and Evaluation Laboratory Technician

Company:

Boeing is seeking a Senior Test & Evaluation Laboratory Technician to join our team in Patuxent River, MD with the MQ-25 Flight Test Program.

Extended travel to the St. Louis area and Lakehurst, NJ on Domestic Temporary Assignment will be required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees planning, execution and documentation of tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies

  • Oversees activities to design, fabricate, build and analyze test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies

  • Provides consultation on test requirements, test methods and capabilities

  • Oversees system test preparations by guiding system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown

  • Conducts complex tests, analyzes data and documents results; leads test readiness reviews

  • Identifies and resolves test anomalies

  • Provides consultation on complex laboratory and test-related problems

  • Coordinates test laboratory asset management

  • Provides Boeing leadership to government agencies, safety and hazardous materials teams in the event of emergencies

  • Mentors others

  • Works under consultative direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

  • 10+ years of experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definition

  • 10+ years of experience with various types of sensors and instrumentation including strain gages, temperature / pressure measurement, accelerometers, and deflection transducers

  • Experience inspecting, fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Extensive experience in the installation and check-out of strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers, fuel flow meters, and thermocouple / RTD sensors, etc

  • Experience troubleshooting signal conditioning equipment and skill setting up numerous sensor types for program requirements

  • Background mentoring / training lower-level technicians while working under minimal direction
