Job description

At United Mechanical, LLC, we offer commercial and institutional HVAC, electrical, and plumbing services throughout the entire Southwest Florida region. Our areas of expertise range from hospital/healthcare, school systems & universities, hospitality, and commercial facilities.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop 2D and 3D drawings (permit submittal, construction shop drawings, as-builts, etc.) for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Setup and model 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software as required.
  • Develop and maintain drawing standards as necessary to maintain consistency across drawings.
  • Continue personal development in AutoCAD and Revit to strive for the highest quality drawing submissions.
  • Assist with clash detection using Navisworks software.
  • Attend project meetings when necessary to assist in coordination with architect, owner, or other trades.
  • Work with business development team to develop solutions for clients.
  • Work with project managers and field personnel to ensure projects are installed per plan.
  • Work with field supervisor to create as-built drawings from redline markups.
  • Maintain organized file system for production drawings.
  • Perform cooling and heating load calculations.
  • System design to include air distribution, duct design, piping design, chilled/hot water design, refrigeration, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • 2 years experience in Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical design and/or drafting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal, hydronic piping, plumbing and refrigeration.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software.
  • Construction and building industry background is preferred.
  • EIT certification preferred or on track to obtain within 1 year.
