Job description

Overview: As a BIM (Building Information Modeling) Project Manager, you will lead the implementation of BIM processes and technology on construction projects, ensuring efficient collaboration and coordination among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee the development and management of BIM models, facilitate interdisciplinary coordination, and leverage BIM data to optimize project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, engineering, or construction management, coupled with extensive experience in BIM implementation and project management.

Responsibilities:

  1. BIM Implementation and Strategy: Develop and execute BIM implementation plans for construction projects, defining BIM standards, protocols, and workflows. Collaborate with project teams to establish BIM execution plans aligned with project goals and client requirements.

  2. BIM Modeling and Coordination: Oversee the creation and management of BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, including architectural, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and other discipline-specific models. Coordinate interdisciplinary clashes and conflicts, resolving issues to ensure clash-free construction documents.

  3. Collaborative Project Planning: Work closely with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to facilitate collaborative project planning and decision-making using BIM technology. Foster interdisciplinary communication and coordination to streamline project workflows and improve efficiency.

  4. Quality Assurance and Control: Establish BIM quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of BIM data and models. Implement best practices for model validation, review, and compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

  5. BIM Software Management: Manage BIM software platforms and tools, including Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM applications. Provide technical support and training to project team members to enhance their proficiency in BIM software usage and workflows.

  6. Data Management and Integration: Develop strategies for integrating BIM data with other project management systems, such as project scheduling, cost estimation, and facilities management software. Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability between BIM and other project data sources.

  7. Client Engagement and Communication: Collaborate with clients to understand their BIM requirements and objectives, and effectively communicate the benefits of BIM technology in achieving project goals. Provide regular updates and progress reports on BIM implementation and project status to clients and project stakeholders.

  8. Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Identify potential risks and challenges related to BIM implementation and project delivery, and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Facilitate resolution of BIM-related issues and conflicts to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.

  9. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in BIM and digital construction. Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in BIM processes, workflows, and deliverables to enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in BIM implementation and project management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in BIM software platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols, including COBie, IFC, and LOD (Level of Development).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction project management principles and practices.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
