HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for an Electrician to join its skilled trades and facilities team.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE
  • Monday-Friday, Days
  • No Telework

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

POSTION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Day shift position with no weekend, evening or call requirements
  • Full-time position with excellent benefits and strong work/life balance (no commuting from job site to job site).

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs work in all areas of the Medical Center, including areas with limited access, restricted clearances and clean room environments. Understands and takes proper area specific infection control precautions for the assigned task. May work in close proximity to in progress medical procedures.
  • Performs alteration work, with or without blueprints and detailed specifications
  • May construct new facilities from blueprints and specifications.
  • Performs routine corrective maintenance work, adjusts, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs or replaces components on a wide variety of low voltage and line voltage circuits and systems as well as motors, pumps, clocks, sanitation equipment, HVAC and more
  • Inspect electrical systems, communications systems and equipment to detect and correct faulty components or parts.
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, calibrates, and repairs specialized systems and equipment
  • Communicates with customers (medical, nursing and hospital staff) as well as team members and supervisors about maintenance, alteration and installation projects
  • Researches Electrical blueprints, panel schedules, and related documents in addition to tracing circuits prior to scheduled shutdowns shutdowns for maintenance, remodel and/or contract construction.
  • As a team member, works collaboratively with electricians, other trades, departmental staff and supervisors, in support of the department and its values and mission.
  • Investigates, verifies, and creates documentation including panel schedules, as built information, and equipment information updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician; OR full journey status as an electrician in a union; OR four years' applicable work experience.
  • Vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
