Job description

Who We Are:
Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. (NYSE: AESI) is a leading solutions provider to the energy industry. Atlas' portfolio of offerings includes oilfield logistics, distributed power systems, and the largest proppant supply network in the Permian Basin. With a focus on leveraging technology, automation, and remote operations to enhance efficiencies, Atlas is centered around a core mission of improving human beings' access to hydrocarbons that power our lives and, by doing so, maximizing value creation for our shareholders.

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the infrastructure that powers Atlas Energy Solutions' business and production operations across both IT and OT environments. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable platforms across manufacturing sites, remote locations, and corporate operations, including networking, virtualization, Windows server platforms, cloud infrastructure, identity services, monitoring, backup/DR, and cybersecurity controls. This position will work closely with Technology Operations, Automation/Controls, Cybersecurity, and vendors to maintain uptime for operational systems such as SCADA/ICS platforms, plant networks, and production-facing services, while also improving standards, resilience, and repeatability across the infrastructure footprint. This role will be based in Austin, TX, with travel as necessary up to 50% depending on the phases and needs of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support hybrid IT/OT infrastructure across plants, logistics sites, and corporate environments to ensure uptime for production-critical services
  • Engineer and support network infrastructure (switching/routing, VLANs, segmentation, firewalls, VPN, wireless) including secure OT connectivity
  • Administer Windows Server services (AD, DNS/DHCP, GPO, file/print) with standard patching and hardening practices
  • Maintain virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) including host lifecycle, storage integration, patching, and capacity planning
  • Own Azure infrastructure (identity integration, VNets, routing, compute/storage, monitoring, and backup) for scalable hybrid operations
  • Implement and test backup/DR for on-prem and cloud workloads; maintain recovery runbooks and validation evidence
  • Operate monitoring/alerting (e.g., PRTG or similar) for circuits, networks, servers, and critical plant connectivity
  • Support OT connectivity for SCADA/ICS, industrial HMIs, and edge systems with clear demarcation and secure access patterns
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to enforce segmentation, least privilege, MFA where appropriate, logging, and vulnerability remediation in IT/OT environments
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure documentation standards (network diagrams, system inventories, configuration baselines, and runbooks) to improve supportability and repeatability
  • Develop technology architecture recommendations and roadmaps (network, compute, cloud, and OT connectivity) aligned to security, reliability, and operational requirements

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in infrastructure engineering (systems/network), ideally supporting industrial, energy, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong networking fundamentals (switching/routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPN, troubleshooting)
  • Strong Windows Server administration (AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO) with patching and hardening experience
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and associated storage/backup practices
  • Hands-on Azure infrastructure (identity integration, VNets/VPN, compute/storage, monitoring, backup)
  • Experience delivering and supporting site/plant deployments (racks/cabinets, circuits, redundancy, remote operations)

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Apply working knowledge of OT/ICS concepts (SCADA, industrial segmentation, operational reliability) to keep critical operations running safely and efficiently
  • Bring a security-minded approach (segmentation, access control, logging) and leverage monitoring/alerting tools to protect the organization's infrastructure
  • Drive strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across network, systems, cloud, and hybrid IT/OT connectivity to minimize downtime and resolve issues fast
  • Develop infrastructure standards and documentation, and produce practical technology architecture recommendations that scale with the business

Work Location

  • Location: Austin, Texas
    Travel: Up to 10%
    Hours: Monday - Friday
  • Work Environment: Climate-controlled indoor office setting with standard office equipment
