Job Summary

Castalia Systems is currently searching for an Azure Infrastructure Support (O&M Cloud Engineer) Tech 3 to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will provide expertise in Azure infrastructure including but not limited to:

  • Support a Linux & Windows AirGapped environment.
  • Troubleshoot systems as needed, and route trouble tickets & support requests as required to Service Desk.
  • Review and automate workload deployments in support of the customers site specific requirements such as enabling the consumption of workloads from collateral and program read on users off the same stack. This person will help automate the configuration and deployment of said solutions and have the code delivered into a USG owned software factory.
  • Design, develop, and build an automated CI/CD pipeline to deliver complex software products into a production environment.
  • Continue development and maintenance of the automated software build process using tools such as, but not limited to, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and specific Azure technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of code into production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and automation.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Continuously improve and optimize infrastructure and automation processes.
  • The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse team is also crucial.
  • A willingness to learn and stay abreast of industry trends is also required.
  • Support a cloud hosted DevOps Platform inside of Azure that leverages cloud-based infrastructure such as Azure Kubernetes Service to support rapid software development.
  • Lead, plan, design and implement backlog tasking (e.g. component upgrades, feature request, bug fixes).
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to solve complex problems.
  • Ensure the security controls are implemented correctly.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field AND 3+ years leadership experience in relevant area of business OR equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years demonstrated performance in one or more of the following technologies:
    • Azure & or AWS with the ability to demonstrate strong confidence & experience in the appropriate cloud tool.
    • Linux experience (expert level), supporting CI/CD โ€“ multiple flavors (ubuntu, oracle, rail, RH).
    • Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, AKS.
    • Network layers and security layers.
    • GIT and ability to setup GIT infrastructure.
  • 5+ years related experience in SCI environments.
  • Advanced technical competency and experience in one or more of the following additional areas: Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Federated Services, Active Directory Certificate Services, Windows Server Update Services, YUM & ACAS Automation.
  • Ability to manage an Airgap Linux update infrastructure on behalf of the customer.
  • Ability to submit required documentation in support of a change configuration management process.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining automation scripts from scratch in support of cloud infrastructure, system administration, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency with PowerShell scripting is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Bicep and ARM templates for infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging and complex troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues across infrastructure, automation, and deployment environments.
  • Ability to clearly articulate troubleshooting methodologies and provide examples of resolving complex technical challenges.
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification upon start, with at least a Security+ certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years leadership experience in relevant area of business.
  • Technical certifications in Azure.
  • Experience with either Bash or Python scripting are desired but not required.
