The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend data pipelines and ETL solutions that support analytics and downstream applications. This role will contribute across the development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support, using technologies including SQL, Python, Spark, SAP BODS, AWS and Snowflake.

What you will do:
  • Lead the design and development of significant software features or projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Design, build, and maintain backend data workflows using Python and SQL.
  • Develop and optimize data processing solutions using AWS and Snowflake.
  • Build scalable backend data processing solutions using SQL and ETL technologies, including SAP BODS.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Apply software development methodologies and best practices, including version control, GitHub, Central Repository, Jenkins, and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners to understand requirements and translate them into clear technical tasks.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that aligns with team standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and reliability issues in lower and production environments, with support from senior team members as needed.
  • Participate in code reviews to provide and receive feedback and help uphold coding and quality standards.
  • Contribute to design and technical discussions by sharing ideas and identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously learn and adopt tools, technologies, and development practices relevant to data engineering and cloud platforms.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of professional experience and/or training.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend or data engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning, with experience working with large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, SQL, ETL, Spark, Python, and SAP BODS technologies for building scalable data solutions.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools that support automated build, test, and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, including version control, GitHub, Jenkins, and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments with cross-functional teams.

Base Salary Range $105,700.00 - $149,275.00

Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
