ELECTRICAL & AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Location: Texarkana, TX | Full-Time | Manufacturing
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support electrical systems, industrial controls, and automation solutions in a 24/7 aluminum manufacturing environment. This role supports melting, casting, rolling, and finishing operations while improving equipment reliability, production uptime, safety, and process efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Electrical & Automation Reliability
Program, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, drives, motor control centers, historians, MES interfaces, and industrial networks.
Project Management:
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, execution plans, and documentation for electrical and automation projects.
Equipment Uptime & Safety:
Develop preventive maintenance strategies, lead root-cause analysis of electrical downtime, identify reliability improvements, and support NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, arc flash, and electrical safety compliance.
Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, GuardLogix, Siemens TIA Portal/S7-1500, Beckhoff, or similar platforms.
Troubleshoot AC and DC drives, motor control centers, HMI/SCADA systems, MES interfaces, historians, and industrial networks.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and other teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of industrial automation experience; or 10 years of industrial automation experience in lieu of a degree.
Industrial manufacturing or heavy industrial experience preferred. Strong electrical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix; Siemens S7-1500 and TIA Portal; Beckhoff; FactoryTalk, SIMATIC, or Ignition; Siemens and Allen-Bradley drives; medium- and low-voltage switchgear; IBA or OSI PI historians; industrial device networking; MES interfaces; arc flash and coordination studies; and NFPA 70E/70B.
SUCCESS TRAITS AND SKILLS:
Hands-On Troubleshooter
Strong PLC, controls, electrical, automation, and equipment reliability troubleshooting skills.

Focused on safety compliance, preventive maintenance, equipment uptime, and root-cause resolution.
