Job description

WHO ARE WE?

Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG), is a leader in the growing automotive aftermarket industry. When you join HPAG, you'll have a unique opportunity to be a part of our exciting and rapidly growing, multi-brand organization. Our brands include Addictive Desert Designs, DV8 Offroad, Flatline Van Co, Rago Fabrication and C4. We support a collaborative environment and value open participation from individuals with different ideas, experiences, and perspectives.

Are you ready to be part of our future?

Turn Your Mechanical Skills Into Something More

Ready to get out of the routine repair-shop grind?

Horsepower Automotive Group is looking for a Prototype Install Mechanic to join our Prototype Install & Test Fit team in Chandler, Arizona. Instead of spending your days working on oil changes, water pumps, and older vehicles, you'll work in a clean, organized specialty shop on new vehicles and innovative off-road products—often before those products are available to the public.

Horsepower Automotive Group is a leader in the automotive aftermarket industry and home to multiple off-road and overlanding brands, including Addictive Desert Designs, C4 Fabrication, Rago Fabrication, DV8 Off-Road, and Flatline Van Co.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys automotive work, fabrication, problem-solving, and seeing how new products go from prototype to production.

What You'll Do

As part of our product development process, you'll work closely with our engineering and product teams to test, evaluate, and prepare new products for release.

  • Test fit prototype products and verify fit, function, and compatibility with factory-equipped vehicle features
  • Install aftermarket products such as bumpers, LED lighting, intercoolers, winches, and other off-road accessories
  • Perform basic 12V automotive wiring for lighting, winches, and related accessories
  • Identify and report potential fitment, quality, manufacturing, and production-readiness improvements
  • Assist with quality control inspections of production products
  • Help create customer installation guides during the prototype and test-fit process
  • Assist with 3D scanning of vehicles and finished products for engineering and manufacturing evaluation
  • Assemble finished goods as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, and other teams to support successful product launches
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of hands-on automotive mechanical experience
  • Working knowledge of automotive mechanical and basic electrical systems
  • Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical installations
  • Basic metal fabrication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Welding experience; candidates may be asked to complete a welding assessment
  • Experience with 3D modeling/viewing software such as SolidWorks or eDrawings
  • Previous aftermarket, off-road, fabrication, or vehicle accessory installation experience
Why Join Horsepower Automotive Group?

This isn't your typical mechanic job. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on new and exciting vehicles instead of routine repair work
  • Get hands-on with prototype products before they're released to the public
  • Help influence new product development by identifying fitment and manufacturing improvements
  • Work in a clean, organized specialty shop with quality equipment
  • Build experience with 3D scanning, product development, and prototype testing
  • See your work make it to market across leading off-road and overlanding brands
  • Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with minimal after-hours requirements
Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $22.00–$23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Employment: Full-time, on-site in Chandler, Arizona
Benefits: Available following the 60-day introductory period

If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy building and installing automotive products, and want to use your skills in a role that goes beyond traditional repair work, we'd like to hear from you.

Join Horsepower Automotive Group and help turn the next generation of off-road products from prototypes into production-ready products.
