Job Title: Truck Body Repair TechnicianJob Description

Join our team as a Truck Body Repair Technician where you will utilize your expertise in repairing truck and trailer bodies with hand and air power tools. This role requires proficiency in welding, cutting metals, diagnosing repairs, and working both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities
  • Use hand and air power tools to repair truck and trailer bodies.
  • Perform welds (GMAW) on materials such as steel, stainless, and aluminum in various positions including flat, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Cut metal using shears, saw, plasma cutter, or other equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, hydraulic issues, and structural damage to trailers.
  • Operate tools such as grinders, floor jacks, impact guns, rivet guns, and Sawzall.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to carry out assigned tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure and basic shop math.
  • At least 2 years of auto body experience and ownership of personal tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform tasks independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in MIG welding, blueprint reading, sheet metal fabrication, and use of cutting and hand power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of trailer repair experience.
  • Ability to pass an on-site welding test.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, written directions, and work orders.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freehold, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
