Job description

As a Warehouse Associate at our local bakery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of bakery products to various destinations. You will be responsible for supporting the shipping team in preparing, loading, and unloading products, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


Temporary Position Notice:

This is a temporary assignment. Temporary employees are not eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, 401(k), bonus programs, or other benefit offerings.


Warehouse Associate Pay Rate: $21.98/hour

Warehouse Associate Job Summary:

Fills orders, counts, loads/unloads product on incoming/outgoing trailers according to the shipping schedule. Position requires demonstration of competency, the ability to learn and utilize computers, basic software and implementation, for the purposes of goods receipt and distribution processes.

Essential Functions for Warehouse Associate:

Ensures that product received from production or other plants is correct and recorded into the PC Data System.

Loads and unloads to appropriate distribution area to ensure that shipping schedules are met.

Train on the PC Data/SAP systems and proficiently be able to operate, print and troubleshoot on a daily basis.

Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures (EE), Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, safety rules, work rules, etc.).

Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.

Maneuver product configurations which could weigh up to 380+ pounds without accommodations safely and proficiently.

Shift involves working swing shift, split days off and overtime.

Must be able to meet customers’ deadlines on delivery which requires all sorting to be completed by a required time. This must be done daily and independently.

Responsible for reporting food safety issues.

Assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks. Stage product according to order deliveries or pickups.

Box, bag, label, stack, tray, palletize and wrap pallets of finished products.

Requirements of Warehouse Associate:

Physical stamina to lift heavy items, bend and be on your feet for extended periods.

Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds continuously.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment or individually.

Good communication skills and solid basic math.

Accuracy, organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability to change.

Professionalism, accountability, ability to self-motivate, strong teamwork, and initiative.

Adhere to all safe work standards including bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, turning, walking, and standing for long periods of time.

Basic power, hand tool, computer, and software systems knowledge.

Forklift and electric pallet jack certification a plus.

Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English.


Working Conditions/Physical Factors – Warehouse Associate:

Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing & pulling up to 380 lbs.

Available for a schedule that consists of a late swing shift, split days off, some holidays, and occasional overtime.

Position requires standing for long periods of the shift and consistent bending and stooping.

At times there could be exposure to the plant bakery environment and associated exposure to heat up to and above 100 degrees, as well as exposure to extreme cold (0 degrees and below) depending on the season and task.


This role may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Candidates should be in good physical condition to meet the demands of the job.
