SUMMARY:

The Temporary Associate Merchandiser collaborates with the lead Merchandiser on the execution of departmental strategies and business objectives; is responsible for translating information and ideas that contribute to an actionable business plan; and supports the department with any necessary tactical responsibilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own assigned product categories and manage the seasonal merchandising process from concept through commercialization.
  • Manage seasonal development calendars merchandising milestones to ensure timely execution.
  • Partner with lead Merchandiser to establish pricing and margin strategies that achieve financial objectives.
  • Maintain accurate assortment plans, costing sheets, pricing records, and margin tracking for assigned categories.
  • Analyze sales performance, product trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and make assortment recommendations.
  • Work with the marketing department to coordinate tools needed for PDP shoots and paper trims development.
  • Build relationships with Cross-Functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member, contributing to a high performing team.
  • Conduct competitive shopping and market research to identify emerging trends, whitespace opportunities, and best practices.
  • Prepare all necessary documents and resources for major Product Lifecycle Meetings, including Hindsight, Sales meetings, etc.

SKILLS:

  • Strong Merchandising and Product Development knowledge with ability to manage categories independently
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong fashion sense, with a sense of brand and client needs.
  • Broad-based business acumen with the potential to grow to the Merchant level.
  • Ability to be an active listener and take direction.
  • Excellent organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of Merchandising experience
  • BA or BS Degree (Fashion Merchandising preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google
  • Knowledge of retail math

Salary offered will be at the discretion of the Company and based on a candidate's qualifications. For this position, the base salary will be between $30.00 - $35.00/hourly. Other benefits associated with the position for eligible associates are listed below.
