Director of Intake – Temporary Leave Coverage

Compensation: $28,000–$32,500 for the contract period
Contract Length: Approximately 4 months
Anticipated Start: Mid to late October 2026
Anticipated End: Mid to late February 2027
Employment Type: Temporary Contract – Leave Coverage

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Intake to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave. This is an approximately 4-month contract position, anticipated to begin in mid to late October 2026 and run through approximately mid to late February 2027.

The Director of Intake will oversee the intake process from initial referral through admission, ensuring referrals are handled efficiently, accurately, and professionally while maintaining strong relationships with clients, families, referral sources, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the agency’s daily intake and referral process

  • Review new referrals and determine appropriate services and staffing needs

  • Coordinate admissions and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and timely

  • Communicate with clients, families, referral sources, hospitals, facilities, and other healthcare professionals

  • Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a smooth transition from referral to start of care

  • Monitor referral activity and follow up on pending referrals

  • Maintain accurate intake records and documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve the intake and admissions process

  • Ensure compliance with agency policies and applicable regulations

  • Provide leadership, organization, and support to intake staff

  • Assist with maintaining strong relationships with referral partners

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in healthcare intake, admissions, home care, healthcare administration, or a related field

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple referrals and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Professional and confident communication with clients, families, and referral sources

  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred

Contract Details:

This position is being offered specifically as temporary maternity leave coverage. The anticipated contract period is approximately 4 months, from mid to late October 2026 through mid to late February 2027.

Compensation for the full contract period will range from approximately $28,000 to $32,500, depending on experience and qualifications.

The contract is temporary and may be terminated early if the coverage is no longer required or based on the needs of the organization.
