Field Service Technician

About the role

Enphase Energy is looking for a Field Service Technician for a 6-month temporary assignment to provide on-site support to our Distribution and Installation Partners. This dynamic, fast-paced role requires owning problems through completion to provide best in class customer service at all times.

What you will do

  • This position requires regular travel of up to 50%, depending on the assigned territory. Travel may include out-of-state trips, overnight stays, and extended assignments of up to two consecutive weeks.
  • Service Enphase PV and storage systems within the assigned territory.
  • Act as a liaison between the scheduling team and homeowners to coordinate site visits and ensure alignment between Enphase Customer Support and system owners.
  • Perform onsite testing and diagnostics to evaluate system performance and identify issues.
  • Perform work on rooftops and elevated structures regularly.
  • Complete solar maintenance reports and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform microinverter maintenance and update the Enlighten monitoring system to reflect all changes.
  • Utilize standard field tools, including drills, levels, squares, tape measures, ladders, and related equipment.
  • Install and route conduit, copper piping, and flexible tubing; pull and manage wiring as needed.
  • Participate in regular safety training and adhere to all company safety protocols.
  • Maintain tool inventory and adhere to tool management standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Always follow OSHA safety standards, prioritizing safety above all other considerations on job sites.
  • Train and mentor team members on proper installation techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, including the ability to review system designs and develop job-specific bills of materials (BOM/BOS).
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, and workmanship standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to meet domestic travel requirements, including possessing valid identification acceptable for air travel.

Who you are and what you bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical installation and service.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to navigate multiple applications; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret plan sets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safety and security procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond constructively to feedback and direction.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to manage change, delays, and unexpected challenges.
  • Willingness to learn and apply a variety of tools and techniques related to home improvement and electrical work.
  • Positive team player who contributes to a collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
  • Commercial or residential electrical license.
  • NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification.
