Job description

This position serves as the Volunteer and Event Engagement Leader for Surprise Arts, a citywide arts and culture program. In this role, you will coordinate volunteer schedules, host trainings and orientations, support events where volunteers are needed, and assist with overall volunteer engagement.

Additionally, as Surprise Arts expands its presence at community-based events, this position helps to promote the program by attending events, coordinating with event organizers, and ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are prepared for tabling and community outreach opportunities.

THIS IS A PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION

HOURS MAY VARY AND MAY INCLUDE IN-OFFICE WORK, EVENT SUPPORT AND TABLING AT COMMUNITY EVENTS.
SCHEDULE MAY INCLUDE DAYS, NIGHTS, AND WEEKENDS UP TO 19-HOURS PER WEEK

SUMMARY

Incumbents plan, implement, and coordinates programs and special events, supervise facilities or special programs or activities, and are responsible for customer services, problem solving, leading programs or activities. Incumbents also delegate duties to positions within the assigned chain of command and may register and take payment from participants if needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service, cash handling, or other related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed on job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
