Job description

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Make your move to Alaska! Experience the midnight sun in the summer, a front-row seat to the northern lights in the winter, and the opportunity to advance your career as you broaden your scope of practice.

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, a subsidiary of Foundation Health Partners, is searching for a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our highly experienced Anesthesia team.

Join Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH) as a CRNA and make a direct impact on the Interior Alaska community. This rare three-week-on, two-week-off schedule gives you 20 weeks each year to explore Alaska's outdoors, such as hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, and northern lights viewing. Experience a bread-and-butter caseload including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, podiatry, healthy peds, and GI procedures, with CRNAs managing cases with physician oversight. While high-acuity cases are less frequent, the work is dynamic and engaging, keeping your skills sharp as part of a rural health system, without the constant intensity of a trauma-heavy environment. Shifts are 12 hours, but many days end earlier, offering even more flexibility and ensuring a balanced schedule with predictable downtime.

  • Compensation: Salary DOE between $315K-$378K | $40K sign-on bonus | $15K annual retention after sign on period| $5K performance incentive | $5K CME allowance
  • Patients: 4-5 ORs daily with one additional out-of-OR assignment (OB or GI Procedures). No craniotomies or hearts.
  • Team: 5 full-time Anesthesiologists and ultimately 12 CRNAs.
  • Schedule: 3 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation. Our schedule follows a "work hard, play hard" approach, with condensed work blocks and 20 weeks off.

Foundation Health Partners is a non-profit, community-owned and independently operated health system in Fairbanks, Alaska, comprised of a 152-bed community hospital, a 90-bed skilled nursing facility, and more than 15 hospital-based outpatient clinics. As the most advanced medical facility for hundreds of miles, we are committed to providing exceptional care to everyone who comes through our doors.

FHP is proud to offer its providers:

  • Professional autonomy.
  • Strong commitment to work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package - 401k, medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • $5,000 annual CME allowance
  • Licensure/credential reimbursement and covered malpractice insurance.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with the state's most extensive multidisciplinary health system.
  • 501(c)(3) non-profit status = eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
  • 90 days of temporary housing for relocating providers.
