Job description

Our Extended Stay Hotel is hiring a Furniture Assembly and Installation Worker.

This is a temporary position created to support room-renovation projects at the El Patio Inn and San Angelo Lodge. The employee will work up to 160 total hours over approximately three months. Weekly hours may vary, and work will be scheduled according to project needs.

This position will end once the 160 hours have been completed or the assigned work is finished. This is not a permanent position, and there is no guarantee of continued employment or additional work after the temporary assignment ends.

The Temporary Furniture Assembly and Installation Worker will help prepare renovated rooms for use by assembling, installing, arranging, and moving furniture. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, able to follow instructions, and comfortable performing physically demanding work.

Job Responsibilities:

(1) Furniture Assembly: Assemble bed frames, shelves, nightstands, and other furniture according to manufacturer instructions.

(2) Furniture Installation: Install and position furniture and related room items as directed.

(3) Furniture Moving: Move furniture into, out of, and between renovated rooms at San Angelo Lodge and El Patio Inn.

(4) Room Setup: Arrange furniture according to the approved room layout and help prepare renovated rooms for occupancy.

(5) Property Protection: Handle furniture carefully and take reasonable precautions to prevent damage to walls, flooring, doors, fixtures, and furnishings.

(6) Worksite Organization: Keep tools, packaging materials, and work areas organized and remove debris after completing each assignment.

(7) Safety: Follow safe lifting, furniture-moving, tool-use, and workplace practices.

(8) Teamwork: Coordinate with property manager, renovation workers, and other team members to complete assignments efficiently.

Typical Tasks:

(1) Unpack and inspect furniture and hardware.

(2) Assemble furniture using common hand and power tools.

(3) Carry and move furniture between rooms and designated storage areas.

(4) Position furniture according to room layouts and management instructions.

(5) Make minor adjustments to ensure furniture is stable and properly assembled.

(6) Break down boxes and dispose of packaging materials.

(7) Report damaged, defective, or missing furniture parts to the property manager.

(8) Clean and organize the work area at the end of each shift.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

(1) Furniture assembly, installation, moving, maintenance, construction, or similar experience is preferred but not required.

(2) Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
