  • Generate complete system architecture and automation network drawings for crane control projects.
  • Select and specify electrical components and hardware for control panels and power systems.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics and ensure they align with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Plan and schedule projects from inquiry through start-up, including design execution and performance to budget.
  • Support testing and troubleshooting of crane control systems, including motor control circuits and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Collaborate with other engineers and project stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of engineered solutions.
  • Participate in site visits for application review and commissioning, including work at heights when required.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate system documentation, including drawings, configurations, and test records.
  • Apply knowledge of legacy, EOT, and portal crane product lines to modernize and upgrade existing systems.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing and troubleshooting motor control circuits utilizing electromagnetic devices and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and vendor application drawings.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming software, with the ability to work within PLC environments even if not responsible for writing full programs.
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of software packages, operating systems, and control equipment used in industrial automation.
  • Experience with panel design, industrial automation, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Ability to perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical control systems.
  • Capability to work at heights up to approximately 100 feet off the ground during occasional site visits.
