The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Engineer- GS-0855-13 to work for the 81st EWS, located at Robins AFB, GA..
This position will provide professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring the application of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific principles, methods, and techniques. Applies cross-functional knowledge in the planning, research, designs, development, test, evaluation, integration, acquisition, dissemination, sustainment, modification, and/or exploitation of complex system to support the organizations mission objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses advanced knowledge of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), radio frequency (RF) engineering, and communications systems supporting joint and multi-domain operations. The candidate has experience applying electromagnetic spectrum principles to develop, integrate, test, and sustain capabilities that enable mission success in contested operational environments. The successful candidate demonstrates expertise in RF data links, electromagnetic spectrum analysis, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications that support the rapid exchange of information between sensors, platforms, and weapon systems. Experience applying these technologies to improve the long-range kill chain through resilient, secure, and interoperable communications is highly desirable.

Salary: $106,437 to $138,370

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. The work requires the incumbent to be subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems.
The work requires the incumbent to be subject to temporary and permanent shift changes.
This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment or secure an approved waiver. The employee must meet 80 hours of continuous learning requirements within the designated timeframe.
Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position.
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
Incumbent should have competency with computer systems and programs such as Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Education Requirements: Position requires a professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. Professional knowledge of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, software development and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, Department of War (DOW) and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.
Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce highly technical reports, position papers, and briefings; resolve conflicts based on mature judgment and experience; effectively
negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
