Job description

Job Title: Production Fabrication AssociateJob Description

This role focuses on assembling and fabricating products using laminates, tapes, fabrics, and related materials according to detailed manufacturing specifications and drawings. You will operate and monitor production equipment, interpret fabrication procedures, and use computer systems to support accurate and efficient production. The position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with measurements and fractions, and the ability to follow diagrams and work instructions to build complex structures in the correct sequence.

Responsibilities
  • Verify control settings on production equipment and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions, promptly reporting any issues to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Align and position materials according to manufacturing specifications to support accurate cutting, assembly, and fabrication.
  • Assemble product structures in the prescribed sequence as directed, following work instructions, diagrams, and prints.
  • Interpret and work to fabrication procedures and specifications to ensure products meet quality and design requirements.
  • Learn to interpret and work from flexible structure drawings used in the fabrication process.
  • Learn the properties and proper use of Aerostat materials, including laminates, tapes, and fabrics, used in various configurations.
  • Lay out, cut, and apply adhesives to materials using appropriate techniques and tools.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during cutting, assembly, and fabrication activities.
  • Measure materials accurately and verify dimensions using standard measurement tools to ensure components meet required specifications.
  • Use computers and computer systems to enter, access, and retrieve production-related data.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, diagrams, and prints.
  • Ability to work with fractions and perform basic measurements accurately.
  • Ability to use a computer to enter, access, and retrieve data.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift while performing production and fabrication tasks.
  • Prior experience assembling or installing items by following diagrams or instructions, such as building furniture from a diagram, installing a car stereo, or similar tasks.
  • Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to lay out, cut, and apply adhesives to materials such as tapes and fabrics.
  • Ability to interpret and follow work instructions, diagrams, and prints to assemble products in the correct sequence.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating production machinery, ideally including large cutting or sewing machines.
  • Familiarity with working with tapes, fabrics, laminates, and similar materials in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
  • Experience reading and working from flexible structure drawings or similar technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and aligning materials.
  • Ability to maintain an organized and clean work area in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to learn new materials, tools, and fabrication techniques as needed.

Work Environment

You will regularly use computers and computer systems to support production tasks, and you will work around active machinery and equipment in a structured, process-driven setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of ELIZABETH CITY, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
