Job description

Job Title: Production Helper / 1st Shift Machine OperatorJob Description

This role supports a busy manufacturing operation by assisting with production tasks and operating machines on a structured first-shift schedule. You will work with hand and power tools, read basic blueprints, and help ensure products are manufactured safely, accurately, and on time in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate production machinery, including brake press and related equipment, according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with general production and labor tasks such as assembling components, staging materials, and preparing parts for processing.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform basic fabrication, assembly, or finishing work as directed.
  • Interpret and follow basic blueprints or work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Support welding-related activities as needed, using your own welding helmet and tools where applicable.
  • Inspect parts and materials during production to identify obvious defects or issues and report them to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by handling materials safely and following housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to keep production lines running smoothly and assist in other areas when additional work is needed.
  • Follow all safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately report any unsafe conditions.
  • Contribute to a positive, family-oriented work culture by being reliable, flexible, and willing to take on additional tasks as needed.

Work Environment

The dress code requires jeans, a T-shirt, and steel-toed boots, along with mandatory personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and ear plugs, which are supplied on-site. Candidates must provide their own welding helmet and tools. The facility fosters a collaborative atmosphere where employees often look for additional work to support the team and keep production running smoothly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
