Positions listed below are needed during certain hours of operation*:

-Mornings: 5:45-10am Mon-Sat

-Afternoons: 10am-4pm Mon-Sat

-Nights: 4pm- Close (9 pm Mon-Thu, 8 pm Fri, 7 pm Sat)

- Sun: 10:15am -2:45pm

The recreation specialist will be working at Northwest Recreation Center (1255 West 300 North).

The recreation specialist works with the Program Coordinator to ensure that the program runs smoothly. The recreation specialist is responsible for running practices for the Rookie League, refereeing games, scorekeeping, and helping set up and take down programming equipment. This position will mostly be on Saturdays with potential hours in the middle of the week for training or helping at events. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part-time work or someone wanting to work in recreation.

Lifeguards

Lifeguard Applicants must be 15+ years old. Applicants must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. Applicants must pass a swim screening test. Applicants must be able to lift heavy weight for short periods of time.

Shifts vary during the following time blocks:

  • Monday – Friday 5:45am – 12:00pm
  • Monday – Friday 3:45pm-9:00pm
  • Saturdays 7:45am – 7:00pm
  • Sundays 10:00am-2:30pm

Swim Instructors

Swim Instructor Applicants must be 16+. Applicants must pass a swim screening test. Applicants must be able to work with children ages 3-14. Applicants must be able to provide a safe learning environment and follow program standards

Swim Lessons are taught year-round. Classes may be Tuesday & Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings, or weekday mornings during the summer.

Background Check Information

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

 

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:

An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.

  • Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
  • Are not considered merit employees.
