Position Summary
Academy Sports Turf is seeking dependable and hardworking Seasonal Field Removal Crew Members to support the demolition and removal of synthetic turf sports fields throughout the Greater Denver Area and Colorado Springs.
This position involves highly strenuous and physically demanding labor, including repetitive heavy lifting, carrying rolled turf, handling dense infill materials, and working outdoors in hot conditions for extended periods. Work is performed around heavy equipment and requires consistent physical stamina, situational awareness, and attention to safety.
This is a temporary, project-based position expected to run from May through the end of August. Overtime opportunities may be available based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Remove, bag, move, and stage infill materials, primarily crumb rubber.
Repeatedly lift and transport heavy bags of infill and other field materials.
Mark, cut, roll, and haul large sections of existing synthetic turf.
Work with crew members to maneuver turf rolls that may be extremely heavy and awkward to handle.
Load, transport, stage, and dispose of debris and materials in accordance with jobsite requirements.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other field-removal equipment as authorized.
Work safely around heavy equipment and active demolition operations.
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
Follow instructions from supervisors and crew leaders.
Communicate and collaborate with team members to complete work safely and efficiently.
Follow all company safety policies, jobsite procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
Perform additional field-removal and general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous construction, demolition, landscaping, athletic-field, warehouse, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
Ability to perform intensive physical labor for the duration of each shift.
Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver heavy materials, including turf rolls, infill bags, debris, tools, and equipment.
Comfortable working outdoors in hot, dusty, windy, and variable weather conditions.
Ability to safely use hand tools and power equipment after receiving appropriate instruction.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated field crew.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to completing assigned work.

Additional Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be available to work 40 or more hours per week during the seasonal assignment.
Must be willing to work overtime when required by project schedules.
Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, dusty, windy, and variable conditions.
Must be able to perform repetitive lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
Must be willing to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Work Attire
Employees must provide and wear the following:
Work pants; jeans are recommended.
Shorts are not permitted.
Steel-toe work boots.
A face covering is recommended during windy or dusty conditions.
Sunscreen is recommended for outdoor work.
Equipment Provided
Academy-branded safety vests or shirts.
Academy-branded OSHA-compliant hard hats.
Gloves.
Eye protection.
Drinking water at all jobsites.
Compensation and Schedule
Pay of up to $25.00 per hour, based on relevant experience.
An additional $1.00-per-hour bilingual premium is available for employees who are fluent in both English and Spanish and can support effective communication and jobsite safety.
The position is expected to work 40 or more hours per week.
Overtime opportunities may be available based on project needs.
The seasonal assignment is anticipated to run from May through the end of August.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily on outdoor athletic fields and active demolition jobsites. Employees will work around heavy equipment, power tools, construction materials, turf rolls, infill, dust, debris, and changing weather conditions.
The work is highly physical and requires prolonged standing and walking, repetitive lifting and carrying, frequent bending and stooping, and coordinated movement of heavy or awkward materials. Employees must use required personal protective equipment and remain attentive to jobsite hazards at all times.
