Job description

We’re Growing! Q Products and Services, part of the Lanco Group of Companies, is expanding and adding a 2nd Shift! Join our growing team and be part of what’s next.

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

The Sewer operates sewing machines to assemble textile products for the Q-sales product line. This role prepares machines and materials, follows instructions, patterns, and specifications, and monitors machine operation to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently. The Sewer is responsible for inspecting materials and finished products for quality, identifying equipment issues, and supporting basic preventative maintenance and repair requests as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare sewing machines by changing needles and thread, securing attachments, and placing spools, cords, or other materials on spindles.
  • Sew materials together by guiding fabric or other materials under the machine needle according to instructions, patterns, or specifications.
  • Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed to maintain machine performance and product quality.
  • Inspect materials for flaws after sewing.
  • Check finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and required specifications.
  • Complete preventative maintenance requirements, follow manufacturer instructions, troubleshoot equipment issues, and request repairs when needed.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures to help maintain a safe workplace and achieve a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • 1–3 years of sewing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Effective communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Basic math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions)
  • Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrum

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is a production classification and employees work indoors and outdoors (in all seasons) with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.  Accurate hand/eye coordination is required.  Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull.  Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 30 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs. Need to have the ability to ascend and descent a ladder and/or scaffolding.
