BCI's Data and Analytics platform drives decisions across 75% of the organization, and we are looking for a Senior Data and Analytics Engineer (Platform) who can step in and own it. Based out of our downtown Vancouver office, this is a hands-on platform role with real scope, a modern stack (Databricks, Power BI, enterprise Claude via MCP), and a team that moves fast and holds itself to a high standard. This is a one-year temporary contract for someone who is ready to contribute from day one, with minimal direction and maximum impact.

WHAT IT'S LIKE WORKING IN THE DATA & ANALYTICS TEAM

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager, Data & Analytics, the Senior Data & Analytics Engineer builds and operates BCI's Enterprise Data Platform - the foundation that powers analytics across the organization. You'll work with minimal direction on the platform that other engineers, analysts, and business users depend on every day.

  • Leads, builds, and maintains the platform components the rest of the team relies on including ingestion, transformation, governance, orchestration, and observability across the full delivery lifecycle, including mentorship of more junior engineers

  • Designs platform patterns and shared infrastructure that scale including catalog and permission models, deployment frameworks, data quality, and federation between systems

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Minimum 6 years of related experience

  • Advanced proficiency with SQL, Python, and modern data platforms (Databricks preferred)

  • Evidence of being a top performer, self-starter, curious & capable of learning new skills, behaviours, and tools quickly

NICE TO HAVES
  • Advanced proficiency using LLMs and using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude, Claude Code)

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or comparable Lakehouse technologies

  • Experience with cloud data platform administration (Azure preferred), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This role will be based in our office in downtown Vancouver, BC.We are an in-person collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely one day a week.

SALARY RANGE

The annualized base salary range for this Vancouver-based role isCAD $106,000 to $128,000

The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity.
