Job description

TEKsystems is seeking a Software Developer with an active Secret Clearance to support our government customer at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, with a focus on geospatial applications and solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while utilizing modern technologies and best practices. We provide a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth. The Software Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications with a strong emphasis on geospatial technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Design, code, test, and debug software applications
- Develop and maintain GIS applications using ESRI technologies
- Collaborate with team members on software design and code reviews
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects
- Document technical specifications and maintain software documentation
- Participate in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups and sprint planning
- Implement security and data protection solutions
- Optimize application performance and scalability
- Create and maintain geospatial databases and services Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Development, GIS, or related field
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven experience with GIS software development
- Experience with version control systems (preferably Git) Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++, or similar)
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Demonstrated experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically:
- Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK)
- ESRI ArcGIS suite of commercial software developer components
- ArcGIS Runtime
- ArcGIS Engine
- ArcGIS extensions including: - 3-D Analyst - Geostatistical Analyst - Network Analyst - Spatial Analyst - Tracking Analyst
- ArcGIS Server
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
