ACRT is currently seeking energetic experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our Construction Specialist is ideal for entry level and seasoned professionals with an educational background in civil construction, engineering, or related disciplines and with experience in these fields and line of work.
This position oversees the civil construction work on site associated with site preparation for new substations and the expansion of existing stations. This work begins with installing E&S Controls and includes clearing, grading, fills and/or cuts, removal of unsuitable soils and installation of suitable material, installation of storm water management systems per the site plans, which may include plunge pools, retention ponds or rip-rap slopes, coordinating delivery of materials and equipment to be delivered on site. Familiarity or experience with a SWPPP book, and the ability to read civil construction drawings is a plus. Monitor and assist with substation, and forestry activities associated with new construction and future utility lines. Ensure safe work practices, quality, and efficiency while meeting target dates while ensuring compliance with environment/agricultural requirements prescribed in laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 2-year degree in Construction Management, civil engineering or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, 2 years of previous experience in civil engineering work
  • Virginia Responsible Land Disturber certification preferred
  • Sediment and Erosion certification preferred
  • Must have an understanding on how to properly identify and oversee contractor efforts to construct a temporary access road and eventually re-seed, once projects are complete
  • Travel throughout eastern Virginia
  • Ability to work independently in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow maps
  • Valid driver's license

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the ACRT salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance.

Salary Range Transparency
For applicants residing in Virgina, the salary range for this role is from $24 min to $30 max.
