We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core financial operations for a growing organization. This Temp to Hire position is ideal for someone who can strengthen accounting processes, guide a high-performing team, and deliver reliable financial reporting that supports business decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders to improve accuracy, compliance, and overall departmental effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the day-to-day work of the accounting team across payables, receivables, general ledger activity, and inventory-related accounting functions.
• Produce monthly financial packages, management summaries, and supporting analysis with a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy.
• Establish, review, and refine internal accounting policies and control procedures to improve consistency, efficiency, and financial integrity.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting deadlines are completed successfully.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards, company expectations, and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Prepare financial insights and supporting reports for leadership, external partners, lenders, auditors, and other key stakeholders.
• Keep financial records organized, complete, and properly supported by clear documentation and reconciliations.
• Lead audit preparation efforts by coordinating schedules, account analysis, and requested materials for internal and external review.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives that support business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting quality, and team effectiveness through continuous process enhancement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Previous leadership experience in accounting, with manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement audit support.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting practices.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop staff in a fast-paced business environment.
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines.
