Our Warehouse in Freeport, Maine is searching for temporary workers to join our 3rd Shift team!

Join the L.L.Bean team, proudly rooted in Maine for over 100 years! From our distribution center in Freeport, Maine, we serve customers across the country who rely on us for quality products and dependable service-and our warehouse team is at the heart of it all.

As part of our overnight (3rd Shift) warehouse team, you'll play a key role in keeping products flowing through our facility. While most people are asleep, you'll be working with a team to move merchandise throughout the warehouse in preparation for shipping orders out to our customers.

This is hands-on, active work where attention to detail matters. If you're dependable, like staying busy, and take pride in doing a job right, you'll fit right in!

Stocking - Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases up to 50 lbs., cut cases with knife, offload and stack cases, transfer U-boats full of cases. Induct cases onto belt using vacuum assist device.

Machine Operator - Safely and accurately perform various duties on an Order Picker machine including putting away, pulling, and stocking cases, retrieving individual orders, transferring totes to conveyor belts, and other related duties.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform basic computer and machine skills alone and learn new systems.
  • Multitask, change tasks frequently, strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with machines in a warehouse preferred/not required.
  • Full availability preferred.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Physical demands-Stand entire shift. Maximum operator height of 6'4"and minimum operator height of 5'3". Machine harnesses are rated to a maximum operator weight of 400 lbs. Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly. Will work at heights.

Material Handler - Safely and accurately perform a variety of material transfer functions. Repetitive handling and lifting of cases, up to 50 lbs. Stack pallets and move workstation replenishment supplies. Ensure flow of work is constant, identify and respond to conveyor jams/work stoppages, and identify problem resolution cases.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak, and read English.
  • Able to perform basic computer functions alone.
  • Physical demands - Stand/Walk entire shift (approx. 9 miles). Bend, lift, grab, reach over shoulder and squat, repeatedly. Climb ladders and stairs. Pull pallet jack. Push U-boats Carry and lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 54" overhead frequently.

Merch Prep (Picking and Packing) - The Prep Work position includes skills in our Picking and Packing departments. Collecting orders for the warehouse and packing them for shipment.

  • Basic math and ability to understand, speak and read English.
  • Experienced using computers, familiar with Windows based applications, able to learn new applications quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and /or change tasks frequently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Physical demands - Stand/Walk entire shift. Pull/glide tote weighing up to 35 lbs. from belt at 42 inches from the floor to a tilted tote holder. Reach over shoulder repeatedly.

More Details:

  • Pay range is $20.00 - $25.00/hr., depending on position and rehire experience.
  • 3rd Shift Hours are from 9pm-6:30am. Days of operation are Sunday-Thursday (add Friday between Thanksgiving and Christmas)
  • Minimum availability: Candidates must be available at least 18 hours per week (three 6-hour days)
  • Maximum availability: potential for 40+hours per week (actual hours worked are based on business need)
  • These are temporary roles that are expected to last through the holiday peak season and may continue through February 2027, depending on business needs.
