Job description

Zehnder Rittling is hiring a Press Brake Operator (including set-up) to join our manufacturing team. This dependable candidate will have experience with set-up, operation and maintenance of mechanical brake presses and feeders for aluminum and steel fin and bracket components. The Machine Operator will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Reliable transportation is required for:

  • 5:30 am to 4:00 pm 10 hour shift Monday through Thursday
  • 5:30 am to 4:00 pm 10 hour shift overtime when needed on Friday
  • 5:30 am to 11:30 am 6 hour shift overtime when needed on Saturday

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job order to determine customer specifications.
  • Determines dies necessary to run job.
  • Sets up press, positioning dies, set ram etc.
  • Operates press at speed necessary to produce required product quantities and meet quality standards.
  • Sets feeder (i.e. to size of Fin and stroke feed)
  • Performs periodic inspection of product to ensure quality
  • Completes paperwork specific to jobs.
  • Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
  • Assists in all other areas of cell. Maintains flexibility to transfer to other cells to assist when needed.

Education and/or experience:

  • Prior manufacturing experience with set-up and operation of presses
  • Basic Mechanical Skills and ability to use small hand tools
  • Prior vocational/trade school background preferred
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and utilize measuring equipment such as calipers/micrometer. Ability to read a tape measure.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision requirements of this position include close vision.
  • Must regularly be able to use hands to handle, feel, talk and hear.
  • The majority of the workday employee must stand and walk, reach, bend, stoop and lift.
