Job description

Cook/Food Service Worker (Full Time) 

Seymour, WI (15–20 minutes from Green Bay and Appleton)


Day Shift

72 hours per 2 week pay period (Every other weekend and holiday) - 16 hours as Cook, 56 hours as Food Service Worker

Starting Wage: $21.00/hour as Cook, $16.00/hour as Food Service Worker


Job Summary:

As a Cook/Food Service Worker, you're trusted with the responsibility and authority needed to do your job well. Your main role is to prepare and serve food while following all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures. Working under the guidance of the Assistant Food Service Supervisor and/or Director of Food Services, you'll help make sure residents receive quality meals and a positive dining experience every day.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect special diets and plates to assure they are correct.
  • Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
  • Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, HACCP TEMPS, cleaning lists etc.
  • and submit to the Director of Food Services.
  • Assist in establishing food service production line, etc. to assure that meals are prepared on time.
  • Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
  • Assume responsibility for opening and closing department following appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Bring out buffet at required times/lines.
  • Serve on the Buffet line as needed.
  • Keep perpetual inventory freezer sheet up to date.
  • Supervise dietary serving staff in dining rooms and kitchen.
  • Rotate stock and update food service directors on large amounts of food getting close to being outdated, so menu/order can be adjusted/product changes, or food supply company informed.
  • Cleans/rinses/sanitizes work space/equipment throughout meal prep while following menus.
  • Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel.

Personnel Functions

  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of respect, personal interest and positive emphasis.
