This Security Officer position is located in the Hegewisch neighborhood in Chicago, IL. The main objective for this Security position is to maintain activities that safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.

Job Responsibilities
  • Interior/exterior patrols
  • Medical escorts/emergencies
  • Automobile assists (jump-starts/unlocks)
  • Payroll distribution
  • Access control management
  • Disciplinary/termination support
  • Investigations & report writing
  • Monitor & record VMS (video management systems)
  • Monitor time clock activities.
  • Inclement weather assistance

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Security Officers must demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, and excellent communication skills. They should also be able to manage stressful situations and maintain a calm demeanor

  • Have security, military, or law enforcement experience and/or are attending College/University seeking a degree in criminology/criminal justice, or have obtained a degree in these fields of study.
  • Must have a High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Registered as a security officer (when it is required/available in your country, state, or province)
  • Trained in First Aid or Basic Life Support
  • Must have a clean criminal record. Mandatory checks required annually
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Must be able to remain in the elements for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to do required foot patrols
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
  • Must work holidays and weekends as needed
  • Familiarity with report writing (competency with spelling/grammar)
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Knowledge of legal guidelines in the areas of security and public safety
  • Experience with Video Management Systems (VMS) and Access Control Systems (ACS)
  • Completion of relevant security training (self-defense, judo, handcuffing, crowd management, etc.)
  • Proficient with Windows OS, MS Office applications, and internet navigation
