Pay Rate: $77,521.60 - $96,907.20Position Summary
The Industrial and Systems Engineer acts as an internal consultant, using advanced engineering principles to optimize patient care delivery. You are responsible for contributing to the achievement of LRH strategic priorities through the support of performance improvement activities across the entire health system. You will lead cross-functional teams to eliminate waste, improve patient safety, and increase throughput across inpatient and outpatient settings. This role is data-driven, requiring the ability to translate complex clinical workflows into actionable improvements.

Standard Work: Industrial and Systems Engineer- Utilize industrial and systems engineering skills to identify opportunities and lead performance improvement projects
- Conduct operational assessments including staffing analyses, root-cause analyses, process flow mapping, value stream mapping, and other assessments, as necessary
- Provide advanced data analysis to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as "Door-to-Doc" times, Length of Stay (LOS), and Outpatient Scheduling Access
- Facilitate large multidisciplinary project teams and work groups through Rapid Improvement Events "Kaizen"
- Develop measurement and sustainment tools in order to maintain the gains
- Support the development of a system-wide Lean and process improvement culture and coach front-line staff and leaders on Lean Six Sigma principles
- Assist in the development of Standard Work and Standard Operating Procedures
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Competencies & Skills
Essential:
- Background in the following Industrial and Systems Engineering principles: Workflow analysis, simulations, statistical quality control, benchmarking, cost analysis, business process improvement, and project management
- Owns strong communication, organizational-planning, and change management skills with the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet internal / external deadlines
- Proficiency in various software applications including word processing, presentations, database, spreadsheets, and Minitab or other statistical analysis software
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment, including rounding in patient care areas to conduct "Gemba walks" (direct observation of work)
