Job description

Conveyor Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Atlanta, GA (field-based, 1.52 hour service radius)
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Level: Mid to Senior
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8-hour shifts + Saturday work as needed

About the Role

We are building our first Atlanta-based maintenance team. This role supports conveyor maintenance, service, and troubleshooting across customer sites within a 2-hour radius. The position is designed for someone who wants to grow into a Lead role and eventually train future technicians as the team expands.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on conveyor systems (approx. 90% of workload).
  • Diagnose and correct mechanical failures on Dematic and Hytrol equipment.
  • Conduct system inspections, component replacements, belt tracking, roller adjustments, and mechanical rebuilds.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and maintenance status
  • Communicate findings, repair timelines, and risks to site contacts
  • Travel daily within a 1.52 hour radius of Atlanta for field maintenance assignments.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Hands-on mechanical experience maintaining industrial conveyor systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working on both Dematic and Hytrol conveyors (maintenance, adjustments, troubleshooting).
  • Ability to independently diagnose mechanical issues and complete corrective repairs.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to operate a field service vehicle.
  • Ability to travel across the Atlanta region daily (1.52 hour radius).
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform work in warehouse/industrial environments.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Industrial electrical experience related to conveyors (e.g., sensors, motors, VFDs, basic controls troubleshooting).
  • Experience working in a field service model with customer-facing communication.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring other technicians.

This role is intended to evolve into a Lead Mechanic position.
